PIR insulation board termPIR PRIME 50 mm — AL 50 μm is a rigid PIR thermal insulation board. This variant is 50 mm thick and measures 1200 × 600 mm, giving 0.72 m² per board. The stated thermal conductivity is λ = 0,022 W/(m·K). The type of facing matters when choosing adhesives, waterproofing and the other layers of the building assembly. Check these connections before ordering, and select the thickness to meet the project’s thermal requirements. Pack quantities and the sales unit are specified separately; a price per square metre must not be confused with the price of a board or a full pack.

PRIME uses a 50 μm pure aluminium facing. Applications include flat roofs, including appropriately specified TPO membrane systems, and three-layer walls. The aluminium layer helps control water-vapour diffusion; the complete assembly still requires properly designed vapour control and airtight joints. Its low emissivity can reduce radiant heat transfer when an appropriate air gap is present, but this is not an unconditional extra thermal resistance. Check adhesive, tape and membrane compatibility for the selected system.
