Modular tile-effect steel roofing sheet

Tile-effect roofing sheets can combine the appearance of roof tiles with the relatively low weight and straightforward installation of metal roofing. Their price depends on the product, coating, profile and supply format. Modular sheets may be priced per panel, while made-to-length sheets are often quoted per square metre. Compare effective coverage and the complete order, rather than the headline unit price alone. This article explains the main formats and reproduces historical examples from the April 2023 source text. Those examples are not current offers; availability, specification and today’s quotation must be confirmed before purchase.

Advantages of tile-effect roofing sheets

A competitive material price is only one advantage. Other potential benefits include quick installation, straightforward fixing, a tile-like appearance and a wide choice of colours. Sheets can be cut to suit edge details, provided the product’s cutting and installation instructions are followed.

Different profiles and finishes

Manufacturers offer a wide range of products, so prices vary by model and specification. Common styles include:

  • Low-profile or flat tile-effect sheets: used on contemporary buildings. The source describes examples with shallow steps up to 3 cm; this is not a dimension shared by every product.
  • Wave-shaped tile-effect sheets: designed to resemble traditional ceramic tiles.
  • Plain-tile or beaver-tail-effect metal roofing: another tile-like style. The source mentions a 30° minimum for an example, but the permissible roof pitch must come from the chosen system’s instructions.
  • Standing-seam panels: a separate metal-roofing format, recognised by the long raised joints connecting adjacent panels.

A profile’s appearance does not establish its suitability for a particular roof. Check the model’s installation requirements as well as the price.

Understanding modular and made-to-length prices

Two common supply formats are:

  • Modular tile-effect sheets: usually priced per module. The source describes modules ranging from a little under 0.5 m² to more than 1 m². Check the actual effective coverage and how many modules are needed for one square metre of finished roof.
  • Made-to-length sheets: generally quoted per square metre, with the required lengths agreed with the supplier.

Compare prices on a consistent coverage basis. A module price and a square-metre price cannot be compared directly without that conversion.

Historical prices and choosing a roofing format

The April 2023 source promoted warranted second-grade tile-effect sheets in graphite, brown, black and red or burgundy. It quoted promotional prices from PLN 23.99 net per sheet, described as approximately PLN 29.50 gross. These are historical advertised figures, not a current quotation.

It also gave an example of a first-grade IZI ROOF UTK 24 matt graphite module at about PLN 50. Other examples included Alfa, Heta, Gamma, Stigma and Bavaria Roof sheets ordered in specified lengths. Cutting to follow the profile can help make sheet joints less conspicuous.

Tile-effect metal roofing can offer a lower-cost alternative to ceramic tiles, depending on the complete specification and installation. If price is the main constraint, compare trapezoidal steel sheets as well. Their different appearance may suit the project, particularly on larger roof areas.
